Many people don’t know that diffuser oils are not only known for their scents, but they can also actually be incorporated in your health and beauty routine. If you suffer from dry flakes or dandruff, you can use essential oils for relief.

Do I Have Dry Scalp Or Dandruff?

Dry scalp is when your scalp creates small white flakes that easily fall off, while dandruff is when your scalp produces larger flakes that do not easily come off. In addition, dry scalp can be temporary and can go away on its own, while dandruff does not and is considered a chronic condition. The causes of dandruff include, but are not limited to dry skin, poor hygiene, eczema or psoriasis, or Malassezia fungus.

Healthy Scalp Tips

To keep your scalp free of flakes, you should:

  • Not scratch your scalp: While it may be difficult to resist, scratching will make your inflammation worth and cause further damage to your scalp.
  • Wash your hair using a gentle massage technique.
  • Not skip drying after washing: Wet hair is more vulnerable to damage and breakage in addition to encouraging itchiness and flaking. When blow-drying your hair, make sure that it is at least six inches away from your head to avoid drying and damaging your scalp.
