Who doesn’t like the smell of the holidays? Can you imagine the smell of firewood crackling, cookies baking, eggnog brewing, pine of the Christmas tree diffusing and the loving scent of grandma’s perfume floating in the air? These are all aromas that make us feel safe, comfortable and calm. They make us feel at peace and serene, don’t they?
The  perfect occasion to greet family and friends. They are a perfect time for bonding, for sharing and for spending valuable time with the people that we love.

The heavenly scents of the holidays

Using the same tactic that people use to sell their homes? Yes, there is a tactic. Imagine visiting a nice and cozy home, finding the decor to be fabulous and totally falling in love with this home because it is exactly what you have been looking for. Well, some would say that baking cookies prior to having a guest visit your home that is for sale is the strategy to have. Once the guests walk in, they immediately feel at home because of the delicious aromas that fill it. It’s like all of those fragrances are the “cherry on the sundae”. It’s what will help “close the deal” as they say.

Why am I telling you this? I just wanted to make a point. Do we agree that distinctive and savoring odors can manipulate our reactions, our thinking, and our perceptions?

It’s Christmas day!
The day has finally arrived and you have worked so hard cooking and preparing for this special occasion called Christmas. Everything is set up. The Christmas tree is lite up, the table is set, the wine is out and more importantly, the children are enthusiastic and eager to open their well-deserved gifts. All that is missing are the guests. They are on their way but what can you add to make their arrival exceptional?

The perfect oils for a perfect day : Sweet Orange, Cedarwood, Frankincense, Cinnamon, Clove Bud, Peppermint.

Essential oils have all kinds of virtues. They help us sleep, they help us relax, they disinfect, they help kill germs and they can even contribute to healing and increasing the immune system.

To help make this holiday special and to avoid the spreading of germs, these blends  can help benefit us from all of the virtues that essential oil diffuser have to offer. All these blends can be adjusted all depending  on the diffuser you are using, double or triple the recipe

The Daily Experience: Combine 6 drops Cinnamon Leaf with 3 drops Clove Bud and add 6 drops Sweet Orange. This blend is sure to bring out the richness and will enhance your guests experience in your home.

The Exotic Experience: If you’re into the strong spicy scents try diffusing Cedarwood with a little Ylang Ylang. Your guests will feel like they are on a beach vacation. They will never want to leave.
The Ultra Clean ExperienceDiffusing a few drops of Thieves oil or Clove Bud oil is a highly effective method for reducing airborne bacteria, therefore, supporting the immune system while stimulating a delightful atmosphere in the room. The Christmas Experience: Cedarwood and Frankincense are the ultimate holiday scents for me (see recipe below). Frankincense is one of my favorites. It is uplifting and centering. It has a woody smell and warm aroma. It is used in church ceremonies this time of year with significance due to one of the oils being mentioned as gifts to the Christ child. Your guests will always remember that special day that they spent at your loving home.
