Bergamot can be found in Italy, Morocco and the Ivory Coast, and originated in Asia. It is named after the city where it was first cultivated, Bergamo in Lombardo, Italy. This is where the oil was first sold.
The very first known account of Bergamot oil as a fragrance traces to 1714, where it was found in the Farina Archive in cologne. The twisted history of 4711 eau de cologne dates back to the 18th century when Johann Maria Farina (1685-1766) relocated from Italy to Cologne where he began to manufacture and sell an “eau de cologne” that acquired a wide reputation.

Ways to Use:
For a refreshing room fragrance: Combine Bergamot and Geranium. Add to Cold Air Nebulizer diffuser
For times of stress and tension: Reduce symptoms of stress by smelling 3 drops of bergamot on a tissue.
For an uplifting massage: Combine 10 drops of bergamot with 1 ounce of unscented massage oil. Apply with brisk strokes.
Bath time: Relax the body and calm the nerves. Add 8 drops of bergamot to the bath and feel the tension dissipate.
