Product Description
Eucalyptus Globulus is also known as Blue Gum. It’s an evergreen tree typically found in Australia, they generally grow up to 55 m tall with long narrow bluish-green leaves and white-yellow flowers. In California, thousands of E. globulus were planted from the late 1800’s onward, mostly by ranch owners to protect citrus groves from the harsh winds. With the decline and eventual disappearance of the citrus business and rapid sub-urbanization of the area, the surviving E. globulus became increasingly seen as an important part of the suburban landscape and are currently protected.
In the 1980’s, the Eucalyptus species and its hybrids were planted commercially in South Africa, for the pulp and paper industry. It has slowly evolved toward the production of essential oils.
Blue Gum has been used as traditional medicine by the aboriginal peoples of Australia. The numerous health benefits of eucalyptus oil have attracted the attention of the entire world, and it has stimulated a great deal of exploration into its usage in aromatherapy as well as in conventional medicine. It cools and refreshes the body during summer months and provides warm and comforting feeling during the colder months. When combined with massage the properties of this oil help to relieve tired, sore stiff muscles and joints
